L’uva Pinotage è stata creata per la prima volta nel 1925 da uno professore di nome Abraham Izak Perold, il primo professore di viticoltura dell’Universita di Stellenbosch.
Perold ha creato un ibrido tra l’uva Pinot nero e Cinsaut nero (conosciuta localmente come Hermitage , dando a Pinotage la seconda metà del nome del suo nome).
Questi sono esempi meravigliosi di alcuni vecchi albarelli piantati nel 1953.
Veramente pezzi d’arte e simboli molto importanti della storia vinicola della zona.

The Pinotage grape was first created in 1925 by professor Abraham Izak Perold, the first viticulture professor of Stellenbosch University.
Perold created the hibrid by crossing the Pinot Noir and Cinsaut Noir (locally known as Hermitage, giving Pinotage its latter of its name).
These are amazing examples of some old bushvines planted in 1953.
Truly pieces of art and very important symbols of the winemaking history in the area.
