BECOME A VINE PRUNER: LAY THE FOUNDATIONS TO BECOME A VINE MASTER PRUNER
Our Become a VINE PRUNER course will assist you to build the foundation of the knowledge you need to apply a methodology which allows you to become a genuine architect of your vineyard, as a VINE MASTER PRUNER. This is the introductory course and does not include tests nor provide certifications.
Enrolling in Become a VINE PRUNER course gives you access to 3 on-demand lectures. These videos are also included in the Guyot and Spurred Cordon Vine Pruner courses.
VINE PRUNER LEVEL: LEARN TO PRUNE ACCORDING TO THE METHOD
Our VINE PRUNER course is the primary level where the course focuses on the fundamentals of the SIMONIT&SIRCH METHOD as applied to the most common training systems: Guyot and Spurred Cordon. On successfully completing an online test, students will obtain their VINE PRUNER certificate and will be able to access the VINE PRUNER Advanced Level courses.
VINE PRUNER ADVANCED: PUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE INTO PRACTICE
Our VINE PRUNER ADVANCED course focuses on the in-depth analysis of Guyot and Spurred Cordon training systems (cane pruning and spur pruning).
This course will allow you to manage the plants’ development starting from the first stages of growth until they become established.
On successfully completing practical in-person exams, students will obtain their VINE PRUNER ADVANCED certificates. One can only book the exams once you have the VINE PRUNER certificate.
Successfully passing the exams and obtaining VINE PRUNER ADVANCED level certificates will allow you to continue your studies and access the VINE PRUNER ADVANCED II level exams.
VINE PRUNER ADVANCED II course will focus on recovery and conversion of the vines from conventional pruning approach to SIMONIT&SIRCH Method – again, for Guyot and Spurred Cordon training systems (cane pruning and spur pruning).
VINE PRUNER ADVANCED II course will become available in fall 2023 (to be purchased separately).
Successfully passing the exams and obtaining VINE PRUNER ADVANCED II level certificates will allow you to continue your studies and access the EXPERT level exams.
VINE PRUNER EXPERT LEVEL: UNLEASH YOUR TECHNIQUE
VINE PRUNER EXPERT Courses, also divided into two modules per each training system, will examine various vine training systems from some of the top wine growing regions of the world. We will analyze the specifics of each training system and the ways to shape young plants or convert adult plants to the SIMONIT&SIRCH METHOD.
From Italy to Médoc, from California to Bourgogne to South Africa and so on. It will be like a real tour around the world! The Expert level courses, possible to choose based on each student’s interest, will be the first and unique pruning courses focused on the local training systems, analyzed in detail, applying the principles of the SIMONIT&SIRCH METHOD.
Each course will end with an exam with which the students will earn their certificates.
VINE PRUNER EXPERT LEVEL courses are not yet available.
VINE MASTER PRUNER: WHEN YOUR PROFESSION BECOMES YOUR MISSION
Students aiming for the VINE MASTER PRUNER title will need to acquire knowledge and skills covered in all the courses dedicated to all the training systems. Additionally, they will have to demonstrate their capacity to manage a team at work and in training. The VINE MASTER PRUNER title will be awarded after having obtained the certificate for each course of the Academy and successfully completing a theory and practice exam with Marco Simonit.
